Hi, We have Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 on few Server 2008 R2 servers.
I want to propose new antivirus for them but I cannot find out if FEP 2010 is discontinued.
Its a standalone installation of FEP on a regular server 2008, and is not managed by SCCM.
I don't want to go to my CTO with proposal of different AV if I don't have proof that the one we have is not supported anymore, is end of life of there are no more definition updates.
Select the version that matches your Windows operating system or the environment where you will use the definitions. Simply launch the file to manually install the latest definitions.
End of life for Microsoft Forefront Client Security was on July 14, 2015.
Microsoft Update (Automatic Updates) must also be enabled to receive definition updates.
For information on activating Microsoft Update visit update.
If you suspect that your computer is infected, immediately update your definitions and perform a scan. That's also the date when Windows Server 2003 becomes an "unsupported" product, according to Microsoft's product lifecycle schedule. When a product falls out of "extended support," Microsoft stops issuing product updates, including security patches.Windows Defender Antivirus and other Microsoft antimalware solutions provide a way to manually trigger an update.Enterprise administrators can also push updates to endpoints in their network.
Microsoft will stop sending so-called "nonsecurity updates," too, by July 14 for System Center Endpoint Protection and Forefront Endpoint Protection for Windows Server 2003.
